At the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada, on June 19, Lady Gaga and Canada’s own Justin Bieber both took two trophies with several other artists winning one each.
The MMVA show from the cable/satellite music channel was co-hosted by actress Selena Gomez, who is also Bieber’s girlfriend.
Justin Bieber won Favorite Artist for his “Somebody to Love” video, featuring his mentor Usher. The video also shared an award for Best International Canadian Video award with hip hop star Drake and “Find Your Love.”
Lady Gaga took Most Popular International Artist in the fan category, while also taking home the Best International Video for “Judas.”
Lady Gaga performed another buzz-worthy performance, emerging from a suspended cocoon, a variation on her Grammy egg-hatching entry. Also Canadian pop-rock singer Avril Lavigne performed as did The Black Keys, Bruno Mars, and Colour.
